By the time I discovered IA®, I had experienced two major motor vehicle entanglements resulting in near death experiences and multiple physical injuries, a handful of other major physical injuries that began when I was ten years old, and an injury that I sustained in the midst of such dire other life circumstances that I didn't realize for a month I was injured. When those injuries manifested, my life changed suddenly, inexplicably and drastically.
Some part of me knew at that time that if I didn't learn something different, I would experience yet another 'accident' of magnitude, and I sensed that if that were to occur, I would not have the energy at that point in my life to remain on the planet. I was not yet ready to leave. What did I need to learn? I was blessed to have encountered an IA teacher at that point in my life (thank you, Dale Alexander) who opened the door for me to a whole other world of possibility, of Being, called Integrated Awareness®.
In this moment, I am unable to imagine what my life would be like today if I'd not discovered IA. Or if I would even be alive. Regardless of all those prior injuries. If I'd not discovered IA, I would likely not have discovered that healing means so much more than the restoration of physical comfort, or mobility, or absence of pain. That healing includes, that we humans are, in totality, so much more than our physicality.
I do not know if I would have discovered where my life had derailed, on those occasions that it did, or how my more authentic 'me' got as far off-track as it did. How 'lost' I had become in surviving the life I thought I knew.
I discovered, I was embraced by, and embraced in return, the reality that self-discovery leads to self-healing. I learned IA tools. Using those tools, I learned how to move beyond the limitations my prior conceptual understanding, consciousness, physicality and beliefs imposed upon me in my world. As I healed, I learned how to use those tools to support others' healing processes. The more I used my tools, both for myself and for others, the more my world opened and the more able I became; the more I gained ease living as me in the world.
At this time, I work as an Integrated Awareness Teacher, and as a Licensed Massage Therapist in the state of Florida. I am grateful life is easier, and filled with more quietude and peace, compassion and love. One of my greatest joys is teaching another to become conscious of, and utilize, the innate tools inherent in the work of IA. That process typically leads to their own self-discovery and self- healing, in as many different personalized forms of the work as there are humans Being. I am honored to be a part of those journeys.
