| Workshop Information: |
A person's ''stance'' in the world is felt by others to express their values, their willingness, their power and creativity. What is unfortunately not often recognized is that one's stance is actually the composite of their movements. The overwhelming majority of these movement patterns were hard-wired into the brain by age three.
With the best of intentions and all the determination in the world, no one can behave in any fashion in which they cannot move. The result is that to both ourselves and others we appear constrained, held back, stuck and even trapped.
As adults, who we have really become is depressingly difficult to reveal in the world. Ultimately what we all want is to be at home in our own bodies, with ourselves and each other and on our planet. For this to be, we need skills which allow us to sense when it is the past holding us back or the future filling us with fears which we believe, because we do not trust our ability to move and stand as we really are.
This weekend will be spent learning to like yourself, to speak your own truth and to be comfortable with others'. How you stand will be felt differently by you and seen differently by others, because more of who you are will be present and available. |
